The port town of Viana do Castelo is a 40-minute drive from Porto Airport.

Four kilometres from the town centre, on the other side of the river, lies a pristine beach. A paradise for surfing, kitesurfing and windsurfing.

It is one of the most beautiful places on earth for lovers of the perfect swell. Between the waves, the water is as calm as in a lagoon. In winter, the waves are more powerful. In summer, however, the sea suits everyone: in the morning, it’s ideal for surfing (with a very light onshore breeze), and from 11 am onwards, a strong breeze picks up, much to the delight of kiteboarders and windsurfers.

Lovely footpaths wind through the dunes and pine forests, inviting you to go for a walk, whilst in the hills, where wild horses roam freely, mountain bikers will also find plenty to enjoy.

On the river, you can go sailing or try stand-up paddleboarding. The professional enduro organisers will take you on KTM motorbikes into the heart of the rolling countryside.
