Palekastro is a traditional village which lies in the eastern end of Crete, eighteen kilometers away from Sitia and is the base of Itanos municipality. Its name means old castle in Greek and that because of the ruins of the old castle on the top of Kastri hill, which divides the cost in the two beaches of the village, Hiona and Kouremenos, where are the surfing club and the fishing harbor.

In the village there are police station, drug store, photo shop, restaurants, entertainment and shops where you can buy food and newspapers.

The club opens 01may 2008.
