 Kalavarda
Fanes is a small village without the influence of massturism happened to the other known side of the
island. Two restaurants, a bakery, a pharmacy, supermarket busstop are the strukture of the village. So
if you want to taste the greek livestyle without ballerman-animation or bingo-nights,….that’s the place to
go.
Kalavarda has a wide beach, perfect for kitesurfing.
It is about 12 kilometers from the airport Rhodos to the kitebeach in Kalavarda and 25 kilometers from Rhodos town to Fanes. It is one of the wind richest
places of the Aegaeis. With sideshore and side onshore wind between 3 beaufort in the morning and 4
to 7 bft. in the afternoon, beginners as well as freaks will get their satisfation! Leave your thick wetsuite
at home! The water has usually between 24 and 26 degrees.
